Library of Botanical Voices is a sound library, which is based on people’s descriptions of how a self-selected plant sounds. The project has a preparatory collection phase, where people from local areas are invited to a workshop, where they describe their plants. Based on everyone’s description, the artists will compose a sound work for every plant. After the workshop, all participants will send a picture of their plant, which will be presented on site in form of an installation and online and coordinated with the venue. There is a possibility to combine the installation with an opening performance.

Library of Botanical Voices is a project born from a long-time project by Benno Steinegger (TO THOSE WHO WILL SURVIVE), who has invited Eirik Havnes to work with him on the ralation of plants and sound and which had become a collaborative lecture performance and installation presented at the performing arts festival Høstscena 2024 in Ålesund.

The following part of the project is an installation that will be shown at Momentum13 at Moss, Norway, during summer 2025.
